Well thankfully I found my winter coats. But they've been stored away for too long, so I'm going to need to get them dry cleaned. Which is good, because J says that we should get our sleeping bags cleaned as well. So I'll try to do that this weekend, although I'll have to research and find a dry cleaners near here.

I also really should get my hair cut. I've been trying to wait until December, but J's company Christmas party is at the end of this month, and I need to get it done before then. I haven't even been wearing my hair down over the past few weeks because it's just too ratty and gross. I want something more modern. I want to get bangs, but I think I'll just get annoyed with hair always being on my forehead. Especially when I'm working out or skiing/climbing, etc. And it's so easy to say "I'll just clip it back," but it doesn't always work that way. So we'll see. Maybe I'll just do the side-swept bangs thing that I've had going on for the past few years.

Weekend tasks:

  • 2 x work out
  • Return library books
  • Get hair cut
  • Drop off dry cleaning
  • Update budget
  • Organize receipts & bills
  • Shop for black belt & tights
  • Look for bedding

i had the same deal with my hair for years... i always kept the layers long so that it fit in a ponytail and had no bangs. but it was SOOOO boring! i have a roundish face (ok its chubby even though i'm not) and so finally a new hairdresser convinced me to try thick, full bangs. they're so great! i climb, ski tour, run, etc and i haven't had any problems other than sometimes they look like absolute crap after wearing a toque all day... but then again so did my hair without bangs. usually if its warm and i'm active i just throw on a lulu lemon headband and tuck them under it, or else if its cold they're hidden in a toque. easy peasy. and bangs are waaaaay more fun. get bangs! do it!

geez who knew i was so passionate about this? :P

Please be careful how you clean your sleeping bags. Dry cleaning could be a disaster depending on what type of filling and material. You generally use a front loading - large laundrymat sized - washing machine on gentle and hang loosely to air dry. Lots of links and instructions available if you google "how to wash a sleeping bag". Please don't ruin your bag! Need it for lots of camping trips!

I also trimmed my hair this morning.. just randomly to get rid of the dry dead ends

Ugh I don't know of anything more annoying than bangs on the forehead! I always go with the sideswept bangs. I just think they are so cute. :)

craigatk, never hang a down bag to dry. Either dry it in a machine dryer on the lowest temperature setting possible, or lay it out on something flat. Hanging it will result in clumping of the down and possible tearing of the interior baffles.

craigatk: We don't have front-loading machines. Our machines are pretty old and crusty, so we want to send it to the dry cleaners. I trust whatever J recommends, since he's the mountain guy.
