J and I have decided that we're going to go camping for New Years, just the 2 of us. It's the perfect opportunity because it's a long weekend and anywhere we go will most likely be deserted. I'm really excited because last year that's what we were supposed to do, but then I think we just ended up watching movies at night, and then going snow shoeing on New Year's Day instead. Which was still nice, but not an adventure.
Now we just have to figure out where we want to go. Perhaps the Gulf Islands would be nice, or driving a bit further north to the Powell River area ... I'd love to go to a place with hot springs, but it will definitely be crowded at those kinds of places. Or we could even drive south and camp along the Oregon coast, like we had always wanted to. Something that doesn't require a ferry would definitely help to keep costs at a minimum, but all the really nice spots you seem to need a ferry to get to! :)
Do you already have plans for the New Year's long weekend?

Ooo I LOVE that idea. Maybe I'll have to take my puppy camping. Me and him. New Years. At least it will keep him from being freaked out at fireworks. ;)24 November 2009 16:00- RainyDaySaver said...
Camping? On December 31? In the cold? Do you have a heater? We're having a house party to usher in 2010 -- friends, family and warmth! ;)24 November 2009 20:14- Bonnie said...
My best New Year's was about 10 years ago, when ex-BF and I went camping. We built a fire, drank wine, and then went hiking in Hot Springs (Arkansas) National Park on New Year's Day. It was 70 degrees! :) Have fun!25 November 2009 05:30- Duddes02 said...
