This past weekend was super laid back and mellow.
Friday night we rented G.I. Joe (obviously J's pick) and I bought donairs for dinner ($15.25). The movie was just horrible (as expected), but it was a good night. We went to bed really early.
Saturday we went to the rock climbing gym. I climbed a couple 5.10 routes that I had never tried before, and I also climbed a route that I was having a lot of problems with the last time we were there. So I was pleased about that. One of my goals for 2009 was to climb 5.11 routes, and I don't think I'm going to hit that goal. We just don't go enough for me to improve to that level, and I'm not able to go by myself.
Then we ran some errands. We went to Best Buy so that I could buy an iPod aux cord and charger for my car. That came to $44.78. I'm really happy with the charger, but I think I need to return the aux cord and buy something with noise cancellation because I'm getting a ton of feedback. Although maybe I'm just not using it right. I'll have to take a look at it again.
After that, we went grocery shopping, and it was a cheap week at $32.49 for my portion. :)
Anyway we came home to watch Hockey Night in Canada (Flames won, as usual), and we watched MY movie pick, One Week. Which I thought was really good, despite a few little inconsistencies throughout. But then again, I love Joshua Jackson, so maybe I was a bit biased. Has anyone else seen it?
Then Sunday, we went for a long walk to return the movies, and I treated J to dinner at the Chinese place ($23). I also made egg salad sandwiches for our lunch today.
Total weekend spending: $115.52

you can usually get some cheap cables/accessories for ipod from monoprice.com if you are willing to wait for shipping....
I saw One Week. I LOVE Joshua Jackson (PACEY! lol) too. The movie itself was OK. Seeing Canada was awesome!
Waiting for One Week to come out on Netflix here in the US. It was not available in theaters down here.
If you like Joshua Jackson be sure to check out The Hour and his interview. Very good stuff from earlier this year, including a great story about his childhood home.
G.I Joe was horrible. I saw it with my BF too, it was his pick, but even he agreed the acting was soo bad. The CGI was good too.
Speaking of rock climbing, I'm not really into it, but I'm taking my BF for his birthday. We're going to a class in NYC. It's a 250 foot wall. We're both beginners, but hopefully we get into it. Any tips?
Jordan watched GI Joe this weekend and Loved it!! I have yet to see it, but maybe i didn't miss out lol
I actually kinda wanted to see G.I Joe. BUt you know what i really want them to make?? POWER RANGERS!!! When i was a kid, i love that show. I know they made a movie of it but it was like more a kids movie i want them to make like an adult version just like all these other ones that have been coming out!
Oh and I also want to see One Week. I love joshua jackson....I Loved him in Dawsons creek. lol good times.
Investing Newbie: That's a great birthday present for your BF!
The only tip I can really give you is to take chances and be bold. I find that I'm most successful at climbing when I'm not afraid to jump and grab at the next hold. The rope will hold you. I've fallen so many times on the rope, and the first few times I went climbing I was totally timid because I'm kind of afraid of heights. :)
hklover hahaha you're way too pumped up to see them make a Power Rangers movie. Too cute.
I think you can get an aux cord (the one that plugs at one end to the ipod and to the car stereo at the other) at the dollar store. Particularly dollar giant. I've never had any problem with mine!
