Happy Friday!
Posted onLet me just say that it was really hard to pull myself off of the J.Crew website this morning. An extra 20% off sale items & free shipping!? Yes, please! But alas, it's not in my November budget. A friend and I are planning a trip to the outlet mall maybe in January, so I can't really justify buying clothing until then. Especially because J and I are traveling in December and January, AND Christmas is just around the corner.
Last night it was stormy and pouring rain. So after dinner and the hockey game, J and I fully wrapped ourselves in our rain gear, and went out walking for around an hour. It was great, except I wished it were raining harder! :) We've been walking more lately, which I'm happy about. It gives us something fun and casual to do together (for free), and I really dislike just bumming around the house after work every single day.
Tonight we're going out to our favourite Chinese restaurant for dinner (should be around $30-35 after tax/tip), and then probably watch movies or play board games when we get home.

Sounds like the perfect Friday evening. It's posts like these that make me look forward to moving in with the BF!
What does your rain gear entail, out of curiosity? Now that I'm on the search for a new peacoat, (blasted yellow one!) I'm of course naturally starting to look for a good trench coat (I got rid of an old vintage one years ago) and a puffer jacket. I was curious what you use in the rain/where you got it. Thanks. :]

Investing Newbie: Living with my BF is so wonderful. I can't even remember what my life was like when we lived apart!
Dawn: I am wearing Arc'teryx waterproof pants and jacket. Kind of expensive. Okay, really expensive. But totally worth it. Especially living on the west coast! Great for walking, hiking, skiing, snow shoeing, etc. Practical clothing for sure, and stylish in terms of outdoorsy gear, but not exactly something I could wear to work.
I have ever in my entire life found a cute waterproof coat that I can wear with work outfits. Somebody please tell me where I can find one!
Also, I'm still very upset about your peacoat. And I had such high hopes too. :(
I got that email from J. Crew too about the 20% off and the free shipping and refused to even open it. I'm lucky enough to have a J. Crew outlet a little less than an hour away and it's the only time I buy things from J. Crew because the deals and so amazing.
