Last year my sister got new bedding for Christmas from my mom. Down comforter, down pillows, sheets, pillow cases, shams, cushions, etc. So this year, my mom said she's going to buy the same thing for me! :) I am THRILLED. It's so generous of her too. Bedding isn't cheap. Kind of ruins the Christmas present surprise, but she knows how particular I am with designs and colours.
She told me to scour the internet for bedding I might like. But since I've always gotten my stuff from The Bay, Sears, or IKEA, I have no idea where to shop. Not that those stores aren't nice, but I kind of want something less generic. I'm going to check out The Bay this weekend anyway just to see what they have.
Does anyone know of any websites with good quality, cute (modern) bedding (that ships to Canada)?

Anthropologie makes the BEST bedding. West Elm makes similar styles too… but for a MUCH lower cost.
If I hear one more thing about shopping or presents in this blog, I am going to throw up. Seriously..
Anonymous #2: Hi! If you don't like what I have to say, don't read my blog. Thanks. :)
Jealous! I would love to get new bedding. We're holding out until we get a bigger bed though :P
I heard that Suzuki has some mobile bedding solutions for outed bloggers.
I've always been very successful with Bed, Bath and Beyond. Don't know about the Canada part though...
not sure what you're definition of 'generic' is so my suggestion might miss the mark, but I always love the prints from the Company Store (well not all of them all the time, but I usually covet at least one print in each catalog), or Crate and Barrel for their Marimekko prints, or Pottery Barn (yes, everybody might recognize the print, but they're so pretty!)
please don't even think about Ikea, their sheets are like sandpaper!! (although in general I LOVE ikea)
For bargain prices on really high thread count luxury sheet Overstock is great.
I'm partial to jersey cotton sheets (the ones that feel like t-shirts). I know that's not a brand, but hey...
Ooooh lucky! And good post, as I have no idea where to buy different bedding either. I always get mine at wal-mart or costco!
I have friends that are big shoppers at Domestications. They have some great stuff. How exciting. I wish someone would buy me a great new bedding set. ;)
CB2.com !!
There's a store called "Bed" near Arbutus & 4th in Vancouver. All their bedding is locally made.

I really miss Linens N Things!
Shevy: I miss Linens n'Things too! I was on their website and saw so many nice things, but the Canadian site is long gone. :(
unsubscribed. :) thanks!
Love Christmas, Love bedding!
I really like the t-shirt style, cotton bedding for the winter and bazillion count egyption cotten in the summers....
Anonymous- Like Krystal said, if you don't like it, feel free to leave. Personal finance is about having the money and the freedom to make the choices about what you want to spend your money on and what you don't. It's not living so frugally you want to die.
Anyway, sometimes department stores do really good sales on sheets and linen and you can pick up great bargains!
I never used to be a big believer in quality linen until I got 600 thread count sheets on sale. So luxurious and wash SO well. Will never go back to cheap linen again!
What a GREAT gift from your mom! My bedding came from Target, and I've been very happy with it, but if I were you, I'd go with Anthropologie. Their stuff is beautiful!
Here in Victoria the Linens N Things store was taken over by Home Outfitters. Honestly, they seem to have the exact same layout and stuff as before. You might want to check them out. I couldn't tell the difference when I went into the store at all.

PS - I bought our bedding at Linens N Things over a year ago and absolutely love it. Chocolate brown comforter with a light blue piping, light blue sheets with the chocolate brown piping and matching pillow cases, etc. We even got the huge square pillows and cases. Love it.
Chickinvic: hey I didn't know that! Will have to check it out with my mom soon! Thanks :)
