J and I were supposed to go climb a mountain over the BC Day long weekend coming up. We both booked a vacation day so that we could turn it into a 4-day long weekend. But because of his ankle, he doesn't think he'll be able to put on a heavy pack and go climbing.
So instead, we're thinking of going to Osoyoos. His brother's family, and his parents are all staying there on vacation (they're from Alberta). They're staying in some fancy resort that's like $250+/night. So instead, we're going to camp for free on his aunt's acreage. It's about 45 min. away from where his family is staying, so we'd have to commute every day to hang out with them. But it's definitely worth it. Not only is $250+/night a ridiculous amount to pay for accommodation, but even if we wanted to, everything in Osoyoos is booked up. Even the provincial and all private campgrounds.
I think it'd be a nice weekend to spend lounging around the beach.
