So far I've earned $55 worth of Amazon gift certificates thanks to Swagbucks - and I'm just 3 more Swagbucks away from getting another $5 gift certificate. :)
Here are the books that I definitely will be purchasing:
- Vagabonding: An Uncommon Guide to the Art of Long-Term World Travel
- Rough Guide First Time Around the World
- Lonely Planet SE Asia on a Shoestring
- Thailand: A Climbing Guide
If you're using Swagbucks, what are you trading your Swagbucks in for?
P.S. please consider using me as your referral if you want to join Swagbucks.

Hahaha... I've also used all my Amazon.com gift cards for travel guides. =)
Well, that and guitar hero.
Thus far, I will be using swagbucks for gift certs too...but it'll take me a while as I never seem to be on it.*LOL*
There's also BookMooch.com you should look into! It's all about swapping books.
i have so far got a $5 USD starbucks card and a $5 USD amazon git card. the cool part was that its in us dollars so when i used my starbucks card it had a bit more than i thought.
I have read the first two books you listed. "Vagabonding" will really teach you to immerse yourself in foreign countries, to take it easy and not feel like you are just checking off items on a to-do list.
"First Time Around the World" is the best there is out there to organize a long-term trip. Very comprehensive and has answers I haven't been able to find anywhere else.
I'm hardly on, so I dont have enough points for anything :(
Just a question, how have you gotten so many swagbucks??? lol. I signed up through your link a week or two ago and so far I've only got like 15 swagbucks... What's the secret?
I've racked up enough points for one Amazon gift certificate. (It seems like the best deal.) I just can't figure out how to generate enough bucks for much more than that.
The secret is everyone using her referral code to sign up - she posted about that a few days ago...
yea, the pushing of swagbucks is getting super annoying.
Anonymous: I'm sorry if you feel that it's annoying. This blog is about my journey to try and make/save money, and reach my financial goals - and I really do feel like it's a pretty big deal to get $80+ worth of books for free.
I write multiple posts per day, so I don't feel bad pushing something that will not only help my readers earn money, but will also help me earn money too.
